Our PROGRAM
In both instructional and discussion-based classes, we ensure students understand the challenges of the SHSAT are not theirs alone. From time management to test strategies, we provide students with a broader context of the test, so they leave the class not just better at the SHSAT, but more confident with academic challenges in the short and long term.
Our SHSAT class is designed to suit the needs of the MS915 student community. It includes fourteen hours of instruction and is broken up into two components: a spring foundational course and a fall intensive. In the spring, students will take an 80 minute assessment and participate in six 75-minute workshops, culminating in a full 3-hour SHSAT. In the fall, students will engage in five 60-minute workshops focused on the most challenging test content and tackle another full-length proctored SHSAT.

Who we are
City Smarts works with students in both one-on-one and workshop settings to ensure seamless transitions from middle school to high school, high school to college, and beyond. Our work is informed by the academic challenges students face both inside and outside the classroom. We work with students at a broad range of schools, and help students anticipate the curricula they’ll see in the years ahead. We have been working with students since 2007, some of whom are now college graduates.
