City Smarts x MS51 – Free Diagnostic SHSAT
City Smarts is offering MS51 rising 8th graders a free full-length diagnostic SHSAT. This is the same proctored experience we provide to all City Smarts students: a real testing environment, a complete exam, and immediate results to help your child understand where they stand as they explore study options for the SHSAT.
Please note: Each classroom seats up to 12 students. We are not able to expand capacity at either location. Given the size of the rising 8th grade, participation is not guaranteed.
How to Register
Visit citysmarts.net/mock-tests and select any available date in June, July, or August. Then–use the code MS51SHSAT at check-out.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many seats are available? Each classroom seats up to 12 students. We are not able to expand capacity at either location. Seats are not guaranteed and summer dates fill quickly.
Who is eligible to use the discount code? The code is valid for one registration per family and is available exclusively to MS51 rising 8th graders. Registrations that do not meet these criteria will be cancelled.
What version of the SHSAT will my child take? For our June 7th and June 14th administrations, we will be proctoring the current (2025) version of the SHSAT. This exam is computer-based and includes interactive tech-enhanced items.
Beginning with our June 21st date, we will be piloting a new adaptive version of the SHSAT designed to introduce students to the format and rigor of the 2026 examination.
Do you accommodate extended time? We are currently able to accommodate students approved for 1.5x extended time. We are not able to proctor 2x time or multi-day administrations.
