Greene hill erb/CTP-5 clinic

We have designed an eight session clinic specifically for Greene Hill 7th Graders who will be preparing for the CTP-5 in the spring. Developed with the ERB/CTP-5 in mind, the curriculum features foundational lessons in Math, Vocabulary, and Reading Comprehension. Drawing from our expertise in individualized and holistic support, we have designed a dynamic, comprehensive program for students at all levels, adapting to student strengths and weaknesses throughout the spring. To allow for individual support, the class will be capped at seven students.

Test Content

We begin with the underlying concepts in math, vocabulary, reading, and writing. We use materials that we have designed to specifically reflect the content students see from year to year.

Test Design

Through weekly homework assignments, we familiarize students with the question constructions from the ERB, and a variety of other standardized tests, to ensure they are able to navigate new challenges and build on their strengths.

Test Strategies

In the discussion-based part of the class, we share approaches - how to respond to certain questions, or navigate the time constraints of the test - so that each student understands the challenges of these tests are not theirs alone.

Who we are

City Smarts works with students in both one-on-one and workshop settings to ensure seamless transitions from middle school to high school, high school to college, and beyond. Our work is informed by the academic challenges students face both inside and outside the classroom. We work with students at a broad range of schools, and help students anticipate the curricula they’ll see in the years ahead. We have been working with students since 2007, some of whom are now college graduates.
