About Our Tests
City Smarts has been developing mock exams for the SHSAT for over a decade. Thousands of students have taken them, in proctored settings at our Carroll Gardens and Financial District locations, before we ever offered them online. What you're purchasing is a test that has already been administered, refined, and validated on real students.
We build our exams around three things every test taker has to navigate: the content, the strategy, and the mental stamina it takes to work through a multi-hour exam. A practice test that only checks the first of those leaves your child unprepared for the other two.
Our questions are written to reflect what could be on the test, not just what has been. That means we're not cloning published sample material or recycling what's already out there. We're targeting the kind of questions and passages the SHSAT actually produces, so that nothing on test day is unfamiliar in kind, even if every question is new.
These are also the same exams we use with our own students. Not a separate product line – the actual tests.
