The SHSAT is the only criterion for entrance into New York City's top public schools. In order to gain admission to Stuyvesant High School, Bronx High School of Science, and Brooklyn Technical High School, among others, students must earn strong scores in the Verbal and Math sections of the test.
The SHSAT presents unique challenges to the test taker:
- Arranging paragraphs in logical order.
- Answering logical reasoning questions by deciphering codes, solving puzzles.
- Tone, Structure and Applicaton questions in Reading Comprehension
- No section time limits
- Multiple figure questions, rational number properties, and radical expression problems.
For most students, the first time they see these types of questions is on the SHSAT.
Our instructors familiarize students with question types, build a personalized approach to attacking the four sections of the test, administer practice exams, and develop time management strategies.
